Support From the Village of Midlothian

Village of Midlothian

As the entire southland looks to the new year as an opportunity to rebound from numerous challenges presented by the pandemic, getting back to work is top of mind for many.

While whoever you award the south suburban casino license to will likely need some time to get moving, I am writing today in support of the project that I think will provide residents with the best opportunity for quality employment – both during construction and far into the future.

Wind Creek Hospitality, and their application for a casino in Homewood and East Hazel Crest, are working with contractors, W.E. O’Neil Construction and minority contractor, Bowa Construction. This team has a robust history of meeting or surpassing project goals to utilize minority and women-owned subcontractors and hire local labor. The casino project is estimated to create nearly 600 temporary construction jobs.

Then, once the casino opens, it brings with it 800 jobs. Wind Creek has a track record not only for hiring locally, but also providing the proper training so employees can succeed and thrive in their careers with the organization.

I believe the Wind Creek Hospitality application is the best for our communities across the region.

Very truly yours,
